The Japanese kanji for “tiger” is one of the twelve signs of the Chinese zodiac used in East Asia to indicate time and direction.
It means “tiger”, the third animal of the twelve signs of the Chinese zodiac. In terms of seasons, it symbolizes the beginning of spring as “Tiger Month”. It is a hieroglyphic character, representing hands clasped in prayer, and is also used as a symbol of bravery and strength.
